With the improvement in flight times, software and camera quality, drones are quickly becoming a cost effective solution to mapping large areas of land in a very short period of time.
BlackHawk Aeronautical Solutions has been mapping with drones for over 10 years. Our projects include everything from land development projects to pipeline right of ways to water management systems.
High resolution and geo referenced imagery is captured and can easily be imported into many CAD supported software. Coupled with Ground Control Points (GCP's) drone mapping can provide almost centi-meter accuracy measurements of ground structures, topography & material volumes.
Below are the steps we take to plan, fly, capture, process and deliver a measured drone mapping project to our clients! To learn more about drone surveys, CONTACT US today and we would be happy to discuss mapping solutions.
Our clients provide us with the project location along with the level of detail expected from our mapping mission.
BlackHawk will prepare the flight mission based on client supplied information. From there we will determine the length of time necessary to map the entire area.
BlackHawk will fly the drone mapping mission, ensuring adequate overlap is obtained to ensure a successful stitch.
Where required for further accuracy, ground control points (GCPs) can be recorded manually using survey equipment.
BlackHawk will process and deliver the final orthomosaic utilizing industry leading technology.
Data formats will then be delivered to the client, including but not limited to orthomosaics, point cloud, digital elevation models and volumetrics.
